Max’s Passport

We thought that applying passport for our Max is an easy and straight forward thing to do. But it's not as simple as that.

Here is the process phases from our experience:
Submit passport application => Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore (1x) => Singapore ICA (Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) (5x) => Embassy of The People's Republic of China in Singapore (2x) => Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore (1x) => Notary Public (2x) => Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore (2x) => Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore (2x) => Obtain Max's passport
The number in bracket represents total number of visit and the phase in italic represents our current status.

We went to Singapore ICA as the China Embassy requires our Max's birth certificate to have his chinese name positioned before the English name. As for the Indonesia Embassy involvement in here, it's due to China not recognise dual nationality. Therefore need to obtain declaration from Indonesia Embassy that Max has not obtain Indonesia nationality. And the declaration need to be legalised by notary public and signed by both of us as Max's parents.
