NUS – ISS Master Of Technology Admission Interview

Rushing directly from my PMP course and arrived half hour earlier from the scheduled appointment. However the interviewer is nice enough to bring forward the interview session earlier.

The interview started with story telling of my education and career background plus career path. NUS - ISS expects you to understand Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concept. Afterwards, he moved into general questions such as:

• The objective of taking this course
• The nature of the job that i would expected after i've completed my master course
• The technical/management area of the software engineering that you want to pursue
• Whether i register other similar master course
• Any personal issue for taking the course (such as financial commitment)
• If you have knowledge in C programming
• Whether you will consider the Knowledge Management course if not selected for Software Engineering course
• If you are required for frequent oversea business trip

Overally it's pretty conductive half-hour interview. I asked about my chance of get selected based on the interview session and being told that I am above average of the candidates that being interviewed by him on that day. However, there is another committee that will conduct the selection from huge pool of eligible candidates and notify them latest by November 2010. I also asked about my entrance test result but he can't tell me the test score. All he can tell is that my score is below 80% that i estimated but still above the passing rate. That's why there is this admission interview, which only be conducted for the candidate that has passed the entrance test.
