Nutrition Is Important, But Also Has To Be Tasty
Our sweety Max has been taking breastmilk combined with formula milk. His first formula milk is Similac by Abbott, which been given by the hospital. Therefore we continue to use Similac Infant Formula IQ with ProCalci Step 1. Nevertheless, we also want to evaluate other products which might be better than Similac.
Initially we found Dumex Mamex Gold Soy Special Infant Formula, which has better nutrition compares to Similac, especially its Omega-3, Omega-6, Omega-9. However Max only drink it once. Afterwards, he refused to drink. The reason is because this special formula is lactose free, therefore tasteless.
Then we found another product by Wyeth called S-26 Gold Alpha Pro. Its nutrition is slightly better than Similac as it contains five types of nucleotides compared to four of Similac. Our sweetheart can accept it as well although sometime refuse to drink it (might be because it's not as tasty as Similac). However, there is one concern for us. While trying this brand for first few days, we realised that Max becomes easier get hungry. Normally his milk frequency is between 2-3 hours. However when on S-26, his milk frequency is between 1-1.5 hours.
In the end we decide to stick back to Similac since Max pretty convenient with it. Baby also know taste pretty well.
P.S.: currently Max is on Enfapro as the nutrition is better than Similac.
